I'm Andrea — award-winning author, four-time nonprofit founder, and trauma-informed coach. For twenty years I've walked alongside survivors of trafficking and gender-based violence, building the services, homes, and policies that make freedom possible. I'm a survivor, too. Keep reading and join me.

Believe the survivor and there will be less victims tomorrow.
I was twenty-four when I opened my first nonprofit, FAIR Girls, and — a few years later — the first safe home for trafficking survivors in the nation's capital. I haven't slowed down since. I've built and co-founded a body of institutions — Karana Rising, The Reclaim Coalition, STISA, the Digital Identity Foundation, and The June Coalition — each one built to do what the legal and social systems wouldn't: believe the survivor first.
My book, Believe Me: The True Story of How a Trafficked Teen and Her Advocate Changed the Justice System and Found True Freedom, is the ten-year case file of a Georgian teen girl who was sex trafficked and then prosecuted as an adult for it. Against the odds and a thirty-year sentence, we won her freedom. Along the way a former Ambassador, a lawyer, the actress Mira Sorvino, and a team of survivors stood with me. Believe Me was named a Distinguished Favorite at the New York Big Book Awards and a finalist for the National Indie Excellence Awards. I've briefed the Department of Justice, testified before policymakers, advised three White House administrations and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, NBC, PBS, and Ms. Magazine — and I've published an investigative series, The Online Marketplace for Sexual Violence (2026), and I Didn't Consent, a global report on the growing crisis of image-based sexual abuse.
I'm also a certified Jungian life coach — because I truly believe that any of us, no matter what we've lived through, can change our lives when we change our minds. I'm a trauma-informed supportive counselor as well, with training in human trafficking, neuroscience, and somatic healing.
